Afganistan
The following quote from Bin Laden dated Nov. 30, 2007 (see below for scan of the actual
article):
"The events of Manhattan were retaliation against the American-Israeli alliance's aggression
against the people in Palestine and Lebanon, and I am the only one responsible for it. The
Afghan people and government knew nothing about it..."

Bin Laden is telling us that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the reason why he
attacked the World Trade Center and that the people of Afghanistan had nothing to do
with it.
Immediately withdraw from Afghanistan and give the Taliban their country back.
History: Forty-eight hours before our own 9-11, Masood (head of the Northern Alliance) was
assassinated by Osama Bin Laden. The Taliban moved in and, for the first time in 34 years,
Afghanistan was united.
Taliban is not al Qaeda. Taliban are fundamentalist Muslims but they are NOT on a jihad.
They are parochial sheep herders and tribal leaders. They were not our enemy until we became
occupiers. They just want their country back.
What we should have done and can still do. We should have recognized their sovereignty
and offered to restore the agriculture systems that the Soviets had deliberately destroyed. In
exchange for restoring their food-growing agricultural systems we would have requested that
the Afghanis help us get Bin Laden, that Saudi Arabian and his jihadist band hiding in their hills.
At that time the Afghanis grudgingly tolerated Bin Laden, they would have taken the deal. Now
he is a hero. By not recognizing their sovereignty and occupying their country we made them an
enemy driving them to join our enemy. This is such a mistake.
Immediately leave Afghanistan. Concentrate on getting al Qaeda, and put pressure on Israel to
solve the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
